Dementia Friendly Community

Bumbershoot's programming is key in helping to address dementia. One of the key issues with respect to any form of dementia, is the level of social isolation that the person who has been diagnosed experiences. 

As one individual who has Alzheimer's explained is that:

“No one can see this terminal disease, and the impact is that it socially isolates you from yourself.”

It is a very lonely disease. It is very important to know the importance of the quality of life, even with those who have dementia and  the programs created by Bumbershoot will play a key role in promoting fun and quality of life. 

It is critical to place a high value on social interaction of a human being. Clinical and medical care plays a key role but so does social care and Bumbershoot's programs enhances and values the quality of life for everyone.
